The difference real wood makes
Luxaflex Wood Venetian blinds are made from real basswood. Basswood is a light, strong, close-grained hardwood that takes stains and paints beautifully, resists warping, and has been the premium choice for venetian blind slats for over a century. You can see the grain, feel the texture, and smell the faint warmth that only real wood has.
Faux wood blinds (usually made from PVC or composite) try to look like wood but cannot match the character of the real thing. They are heavier, they shine under direct light, and they reveal their plastic origin the moment you look closely. The Luxaflex Wood Venetian is the genuine article, sustainably sourced from FSC certified forests.
Available in over 40 stains and painted finishes, from pale natural ash through warm walnut to deep espresso, plus pure whites and rich painted shades. Choose 25mm or 50mm slat widths to match the scale of your window. Every component, from the wooden valance to the matching cord, is finished to the same high standard.

Sustainably Sourced
All Luxaflex Wood Venetian slats come from FSC certified forests where replanting exceeds harvesting. Real wood is a renewable material with a far lower carbon footprint than the PVC used in faux wood blinds.
PowerView Motorisation
Available as an option, PowerView motorisation eliminates cords completely and adds app, voice, and schedule control. Ideal for hard to reach windows and child safe installations. Currently offered as a complimentary upgrade during our Spring Promotion.
Built to Last
A well maintained wood venetian lasts decades. The finish is durable, the mechanism is robust, and if the cord or tilt needs attention years down the line, we can repair it rather than replace the whole blind. Dust with a duster or brush attachment.

Questions about Wood Venetian blinds
What is the difference between real wood and faux wood?
Real wood blinds use actual timber slats (basswood in the Luxaflex range). Faux wood blinds are made from PVC or composite that mimics the appearance of wood but is heavier, shinier, and lacks the natural texture. Real wood is warmer in appearance, significantly lighter in weight, and more sustainable. Faux wood is better suited to high humidity environments like bathrooms.
Can wood venetian blinds be used in bathrooms or kitchens?
Wood venetian is fine in kitchens away from direct steam sources. For bathrooms, we would recommend an alternative such as Duette (which is 100% polyester and moisture resistant) or a faux wood blind. Wood in prolonged humid environments can warp over time.
What slat widths are available?
Luxaflex offers 25mm and 50mm slat widths. The 25mm is neater for smaller windows and a more contemporary look. The 50mm is the traditional wood venetian scale, suiting larger windows and classical interiors. We show you both during your consultation so you can choose.
Are wood venetian blinds child safe?
Standard wood venetian blinds have a cord for raising and lowering and a tilt wand for adjusting the slats. For households with young children we strongly recommend the PowerView motorised option, which is completely cordless and operates via remote or app. PowerView motorisation is currently included as a complimentary upgrade during our Spring Promotion.
How much do wood venetian blinds cost?
The price depends on the window size, slat width, and finish. A standard window typically starts from around £300 to £500. PowerView motorisation is normally an additional option but is included as a complimentary upgrade on orders placed before 31 May 2026. View the Spring offer.
