Here at The Scottish Shutter Company, we’ve become known for our expertise in automated and voice-activated window blinds.
So, it seems like a natural progression that we introduce a new range of automated window shutters. This new range, called PowerMotion is available as an option on all of our S-Craft silent-tilt shutter products. (Except our waterproof Java collection and our Portchester Security Shutters). PowerMotion automated window shutters are also available for French Door shutters, special shapes, gable ends and bay windows.
Are there any design limits to Electric Shutters?
Incidentally, we use our own in-house computer-aided design facility to design your shutters. That means no window shape is too awkward for us. That’s why we’re known as the “shaped shutter experts”. That’s also what helped us win The Best Plantation Shutter Installation in the UK Award. PowerMotion means that you’ll be able to control the angle of the louvres on your shutters from fully closed to fully open. And anywhere in between at the touch of a button. You have eight pre-programmed louvre positions. There’s even a button to allow you to set your louvres at the optimum position for the best view.
Even if you live in a very large house or have unusually thick walls PowerMotion can cope.
One of the great design features of PowerMotion is a hidden motor. This motor will immediately disengage if something prevents the louvres from moving.
This built-in protection means it’s ideal if you have young children at home with inquisitive fingers which may get in the way when the louvres are closing at bedtime. This integrated jam protection system provides the ultimate in child safety. Remembering, of course, that window shutters are already the most child-safe window covering available. There are no dangerous cords or loops on window shutters. Oh, and if you need to make a bedroom really dark we have a brilliant shutter solution for that too.

PowerMotion is ideal for shutters which are difficult to reach. Such as tall gable windows and for larger installations where hand-tilting of the louvres can be time-consuming. The PowerMotion Automated Window Shutters Tech Stuff
For the technically minded, your PowerMotion automated window shutters come with lithium-ion batteries with an integrated solar strip to extend battery life. The batteries are rechargeable via a mini USB. There’s also a manual override if you want or need to operate the louvres manually.
Introducing The PowerMotion Hub
A fantastic new addition to our motorised shutters portfolio is the PowerMotion Hub. By adding the Hub to your motorised shutter installation, you can maximise your control of your motorised shutters using an app on your Smartphone.
