We just wanted to say thank you for the installation today. We are so very pleased with our shutters and even had a text from our neighbours before the guys left to say how amazing they were. When we went outside to look, we saw what she meant!

The guys were very professional, working quickly and quietly cleaning up before they left and taking away the rubbish, which is very refreshing these days.

The whole process, from enquiry to installation, was very efficient.

I have these currently here in Scotland and they can brighten a room. You just tilt the louvres in a way to direct light into the room. They can also make a really nice dark room when fully closed, perfect for watching movies! 

They’re a great insulator, either helping to keep a room warmer or cooler. They’re so much easier to clean than curtains!

We’ve just ordered our second set for our home office and will soon be making a 3rd order for our sun lounge. 😊

Can’t recommend the Scottish Shutter Company enough. They come out, take really accurate measurements and are fully honest about lead times, the installation process etc. there are no extra hidden costs that you get slammed with after placing and confirming your order. 

They talk you through the different products they have, and what the costs are.

I also grew up with these types of blinds in America where they’ve been around for centuries. 

They’re called “plantation blinds” but the original concept was invented in Ancient Greece. They’ve been around for this long because they work!

Just a quick note to say the Leon arrived exactly on time, did a great job as always, and we are super pleased with the finished results

You could have simply said you were too busy or pushed me to the maker of the blind, but instead, you chose to help and solve my tiny molehill of an issue that risked becoming a mountain.

Just to say thank you to everyone for another wonderful installation. You make the process from start to finish just so straightforward. Everyone turns up when expected and you know the Scottish Shutter Company is in with the perfectly lined up shoes at the door!

After researching possible shutter suppliers, I settled on The Scottish Shutter Company because their response time to my initial enquiry was the quickest and most professional of all the companies I contacted. It seems that it is not as easy as it used to be to visit showrooms due to Covid, but this wasn’t a problem for The Scottish Shutter Company. They brought the samples (all of them) to me. David [D’Ambrosio] arrived on site exactly when he said he would, bringing with him all the samples and a wealth of knowledge on what types of shutters would suit my rooms and why. There were a few options, and David patiently and confidently went through all of these, advising the features and benefits of all of them. After his presentation, he then competently measured all my rooms. The ceiling heights of my rooms are 3.5 metres; this wasn’t a problem for David to tackle.

Within 24 hours, I had a couple of quotes from head office and the options we discussed. They gave me time to review these prices and agree on which ones I felt were best. Shutters are an investment; they are not transient fashion; therefore, the cost of these differs from blinds. However, there are plenty of options to suit everyone’s budget. Once agreed, I paid 50% upfront. If you’re like me, you instinctively worry that this company might keep the money and not deliver. These fears were eliminated very quickly because The Scottish Shutter Company kept in regular contact with me throughout the manufacturing period advising me of the progress of my order. I was given an estimated delivery time of 16/18 weeks, and we agreed on a potential fitting date. Before the installation date, I paid the remaining balance and had no hesitation in doing this due to their continued customer service and support.

As promised and exactly on time, the two fitters arrived to fit the shutters. They were organised, polite and completely efficient. It took around 2 hours of solid work to install the nine shutters. Not one piece of mess was made, and throughout the process, I found them friendly and courteous. Their knowledge of the product was incredible, and after the installation, they spent as long as I needed to understand how best to look after the shutters and operate them effectively, highlighting many of their features of heat retention, security and privacy.”

I don’t often give out five stars to companies, but this 5-star review is completely justified, and I would not have any hesitation in purchasing from this company again or highly recommending them to anyone else. They were incredible. Thank you for delivering on every level; I am thoroughly delighted with the result.

Firstly, my sincere apologies for the delay in sending this to you, I wanted to sit down and really give proper thought to this email, rather than a quick message.   The electrician arrived just as your team was leaving yesterday and I had quite a tidy up after he left (not all are as clean as you chaps) and I also needed to prep another room for him coming back tonight (which did not happen in the end), so it was a rather late night.

I absolutely love love love the pirouette’s and the shutters (oh I have missed my shutters you installed at our last property – never realised just how much until yesterday) and the Duettes are great too.  Thank you so much for the care and patience yourself, David and your wonderful install team have provided throughout the entire process.  There is simply no other company we would deal with, you continually go above and beyond and we are so very grateful.

The only reason it is “I” is because Simon has been away all week and only returning late tonight, so I can’t wait to see his face when he see’s everything, I think he will be blown away.  As above the Pirouettes in particular are just beautiful and as soon as I can get some daylight shots taken, I will share these with you – in fact if you are ever in Edinburgh, please do come in for a coffee to have a look at them – they are stunning, I feel like I am living in one of your brochures!  Selling Sunset has nothing on Rosewell now 😊.  But more importantly than that – they make our house a HOME.

In addition to praising the product and you & David’s abundance of patience and guidance, I wanted to pass on my gratitude to your wonderful install team too.  They are an absolute credit to you too.  Often when you have a company come to deliver or install, the experience falls short of the “sales experience”, however not in your case.

They were just as patient, diligent at their work, so friendly and put my mind at ease, no question too silly or never too busy to take time to explain.  Honestly, they were just a pleasure to have in my home and that is not always the case and therefore not something I wanted to leave unsaid.    You can tell that everyone feels like part of the Scottish Shutter family and by extension I want to affirm that this spreads to you clients too!

Not sure what else I can say other than THANK YOU – two small words but a huge sentiment behind it!  Truly thank you, as you know we have had so many ups and downs with tradesmen letting us down, dealing with yourselves has been a complete dream.

It was a pleasure to have Leon and Rob in the flat today. They did a great job, and the blinds exceeded our expectations the minute we saw them installed. It is simply wonderful to be at the receiving end of a Scottish family business whose quality of goods and service is of the highest quality. A complete antidote to the experience we’ve had with our builders for over six months now. It has been uplifting for us on many levels.

This company was a pleasure to deal with from initial contact until the final installation of 5 Shutters and 5 Blinds. We received a nice brochure and comprehensive information on their website. Judith took time to give us indicative costs as our new home had not yet been completed. They were happy to work from the builders’ drawings. David was very informative when we attended a private appointment at the Dundee showroom. He spent time understanding our requirements and explaining all our options. David then liaised with our builder to obtain an early site visit to obtain accurate measurements. We met with him again immediately and he explained our options based on his findings. He even went as far as offering some snagging advice. The quotation was quickly received and presented us with further options. Judith made the order process run smoothly. We were provided with updates on the order progress. We were advised of a late February/early March install date. This happened on schedule. Installation date arrived and the Installers arrived on time. They were very professional, polite, and worked hard to install everything ordered. They worked tiddly and cleaned as they completed. They took the time to explain all the features of the Shutters and Blinds. The products we ordered were not cheap. We did pay more for quality and service. Well worth it to help complete our new home.

“Love my shutters”

We are absolutely delighted with the shutters this company installed in our home – which, btw included bow windows in two lounges and our bedroom. The result looks stunning, makes the house feel cosier on cold winter evenings and has reduced our heat bills as a result. In honesty, most of this had to do with the excellent preparation work David did when he came to measure up the window frames: bow windows in 193x properties are never symmetrical, but he was meticulous in his measurements, and that can be seen in the finished product. We initially had anothercompany estimate for the job, and yes, they were cheaper, but I had much more confidence in David and Judith, and our gut served us well. Communication with Judith and Francesca was excellent, and on installation day, the team (Leon and his colleague) were polite, courteous, informative and tidy in their workmanship. The whole experience has been a pleasure.
