The 8th National Entrepreneur Awards
We’ve just found out that we’ve been nominated as a finalist at one of the UK’s most significant business events – the 8th National Entrepreneur Awards.
David Walliams
The award ceremony, hosted by author, actor and comedian David Walliams takes place on the evening of Friday 1st October at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
Other notable speakers at the event will be the star of Dragons’ Den – Peter Jones.
There will be an audience of over twelve hundred entrepreneurs and just to be nominated in The Best Family Business and Best Marketing categories is fantastic. We actually won the award last year, so the be nominated as a finalist for a second year running is fantastic.
Business Awards
We’re no strangers to a family business award, having won Best Family Business Scotland in previous years.
We were also runners up in the Broons’ awards.
Last year we won Best Plantation Shutter Installation in the UK and Best Family Business 2020.
Our Family Business
Success in business comes down to getting and keeping customers. However, in a family business add to that the unique set of management challenges stemming from the overlap of family and business issues.
Our whole family relies on this business. Both my parents, myself and my husband, my cousin, my aunt….and of course our kids’ livelihood depend on us getting and keeping customers.
From Zero to St Lucia in 12 Months
Our second nomination at the 7th National Entrepreneur Awards was for Best Marketing for the launch of our new Edinburgh showroom in October 2018. This is our latest Luxaflex Window Blinds Gallery Showroom. In twelve short months, the showroom went from zero to one of the top-performing Luxaflex Galleries in Europe.
We have to thank the people of Edinburgh and the surrounding areas for their overwhelming support in this new venture.
So, David and I flew out to St Lucia for ten days in 2019 as guests of Luxaflex UK as a reward for our Edinburgh showroom’s performance.
My Dad, also David, one of our co-founders and also Project Director will be attending the award ceremony in Birmingham.
