The British Blind & Shutter Association (BBSA) is the only UK trade association for blinds & shutters in the UK.
The BBSA is a progressive organisation with a heritage stretching back a century. The BBSA helps trade members to shape and develop the industry while representing their interests.
The Association also represents the interests of you, the consumer.
The Scottish Shutter Company is very proud to be a member of The BBSA.
This is your assurance of the highest possible standards of workmanship, service and fair trading when buying window blinds or shutters.
Before joining the BBSA prospective members have to undergo a strict vetting procedure. Potential members need to have been trading for a minimum of three years. They also have to demonstrate a sound financial history. In addition, a commitment to training and appropriate health and safety standards and quality systems in place.
Occasionally challenges can arise, and membership of the BBSA requires members to handle customer complaints quickly and appropriately in line with the BBSA’s Code of Practice.
In the case of an unresolved dispute, you can request the BBSA investigates on your behalf.
Complaints against members are rare. This is evidence of both a robust selection procedure and an assurance that there is strict adherence to the BBSA’s Code of Practice.
So you can buy from members of the BBSA safe in the knowledge that they are operating to the highest standards of quality and workmanship. With the back-up of the only national trade association for window blinds and shutters.
All BBSA members are part of the BBSA’s ‘Make it Safe’ campaign.
The BBSA’s Make it Safe campaign aims to ensure that parents and carers have the correct information to make the right, safe choice in window blinds for their homes.
The BBSA and its members are fully committed to helping eliminate the risk associated with hazardous looped operating cords, chains and tapes used on window blinds.
All of our window blinds at The Scottish Shutter Company have child safety built-in as standard.
Window shutters are the most child-safe window covering you can buy as there are no loops, cords or chains.
So, don’t assume – always check that any company you are thinking of buying shutters or blinds from is a current member of the BBSA.
