You know we said that all the pictures on this web site are absolutely unique to us and are actual photographs of client installations which we have carried out here in Scotland or the North of England? Well, this page is the exception.
You see, a lot of plantation shutter websites seem to show exactly the same photographs – the reason – these photographs are stock shots or library pics. They are widely used to illustrate fine examples of shutter installations (which they undoubtedly are) but, and this is the important point, they are unlikely to have been fitted by any company in Scotland or the North of England. In fact a lot of them are not even in the UK!
Often the blue ocean in the background and the milky white sand is a dead giveaway – we’re never sure of the location but one thing we can be certain of – it’s not the River Clyde or the River Forth and the lake is unlikely to be Derwent Water. Sometimes the shutters are not even permanent and are temporarily fitted in a nice apartment just for the purpose of taking a photograph.
Jimi Hendrix, Paul Weller, Bob Marley and Jim Morrison often feature in these stock shots as well. We’ve popped some examples below so you know what to look for – don’t be fooled. These are excellent examples of shutter installations – the trouble is no one seems to know whose. This is why they can never be used as a guarantee of workmanship or competency on a website. Stock shots are often used by companies who actually have very few, if any, photographs of their own work or, in some cases, by companies who have actually never done any shutter work at all.
